You do not need accounting software. You need books.
QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, FreshBooks, Zoho. Every one of them expects you to log in, learn a system and pay monthly. We just need your statements.
Software was never the point.
You bought it because someone told you to. Most owners buy accounting software because a bookkeeper or a blog said to, then use maybe a tenth of it. You are paying twice. A subscription, plus someone to operate it. QuickBooks Online Essentials alone is about $85 a month at list price, and Intuit has raised prices repeatedly. You are still doing work. Categorizing, chasing feed errors, answering the same questions. The software moved the work; it did not remove it.
Statements in, financials out.
Your bank already keeps the record. Every transaction you made is on a statement or a CSV download. That is the same data any software would use. We do the sorting. Categorization, reconciliation, and a short question list for anything unclear. You get files, not a login. P&L, balance sheet and general ledger in Excel and PDF, yours to keep, readable by any preparer or lender.
Leaving a platform?
We export your history as reports you keep before you cancel, so nothing is trapped when the subscription ends.
When you probably do need the software.
You have high order volume or need live stock levels and real-time cost of goods, rather than a quarterly figure. You invoice customers constantly and want automated reminders inside one system. Your lender or investors require accrual or GAAP statements. You need a live dashboard rather than a quarterly close. We would rather tell you now than three months in.
